Voice changer · Mac and iPhone
Change your voice in a video: robot, chipmunk, deep and more
A voice changer turns plain narration into a character, a punchline or an anonymous voice, without recording anything twice.
Each effect is processed on your device, only one is active at a time, and switching to another replaces it rather than piling effects on top of each other.

Quick answer
To change your voice in a video, pick one of Zella's 16 voice changers on Mac or iPhone, processed on your device: Chipmunk, Deep, Robot, Echo, Reverb, Megaphone, Telephone, Underwater, Monster, Helium, Alien, Ghost, 8-Bit, Duck, Cartoon and Ogre. On the Mac, tap one in the Sounds tab to transform your whole mic track; on iPhone, apply one to a clip's audio from the Audio button. Tap again to get your own voice back. Free on every tier.
How to do it in Zella
-
Step 1: Mac: open the Sounds tab
Scroll to the Voice Changer section, below the sound-effects library.
-
Step 2: Tap a voice
Pick Robot, Chipmunk, Deep or any of the others. Zella processes your mic track on the Mac and swaps it in.
-
Step 3: iPhone: use the Audio button
Select a clip, tap Audio in the timeline toolbar and choose a voice for that clip's audio.
-
Step 4: Change a voiceover
On iPhone, record narration with Audio → Record voiceover, then tap the voiceover strip and apply a voice. Choosing None gives you back exactly what you recorded.
-
Step 5: Turn it off
Tap the same voice again on the Mac to return to your normal voice.
Why do it this way
A cast of characters, built in
From Telephone and Megaphone to Alien and 8-Bit, with no separate audio app or plugin to install.
Never destructive
On an iPhone voiceover the effect always renders from the untouched original, so effects replace each other and the raw take is never overwritten.
Hide a voice
Use Deep or Robot to keep a narrator anonymous, processed on the device with nothing uploaded.
What you need
