FOR RESTAURANTS & FOOD

The dish is the advert. Film it between services.

Food is the most watchable thing on any feed. Shoot it on a phone in the pass and post it before service starts.

  • No time between prep and service to sit at a computer
  • Agencies charge monthly for what takes ten minutes
  • Every platform wants the same clip in a different shape
01

Film the dish or the pass on a phone

02

Auto-Polish, captions and a beat-matched cut

03

Export vertical for the feed

The whole job happens on the phone in your apron pocket, in the ten minutes before doors.

Zella for iPhone →

When one dish clip goes to Reels, the square feed and the website header, the multi-aspect queue does all three at once.

Everything else here is free forever: the complete editor, all the AI, unlimited recording, and watermark-free export up to 2 minutes at 1080p. Pro is $89 once and covers Mac and iPhone on a single purchase. See pricing →

Food is the most reliably watchable thing on any feed, and restaurants are the businesses least able to sit down and edit. The gap between those two facts is why so many kitchens with brilliant material post nothing.

Zella fits in the ten minutes before doors. Film the dish in the pass on a phone, tap once, and it is cut, captioned and scored. Beat Sync will punch the cuts onto the music if you want the fast, rhythmic style that food content tends to use.

No subscription matters here more than in most trades, because posting comes in bursts. A quiet January should not cost you a monthly fee for a tool you did not open.

A dish shot cut to music

Beat Sync detects the beats and pulses a zoom on each, which is the pacing food content lives on.

A special or menu-change announcement

One take with captions, because a phone in a noisy kitchen is a phone on mute.

A behind-the-pass clip

Speed ramps compress a long prep into the interesting fifteen seconds.

A vertical cut for the local feed

Shot horizontal by accident? Make Vertical reframes to 9:16 with tracking rather than a centre crop.

Nobody here has time to learn software.

The realistic version is three taps: record, Auto-Polish, export. If that is still too much on a service day, this will not work for you, and no editor would. The free tier costs nothing to test that with.

We do not have a Mac.

You do not need one. The iPhone app records, edits, captions and exports on its own, and one purchase later covers a Mac too if you ever want it.

Our lighting is terrible.

Colour tools help and will not rescue a dark kitchen. The honest advice is to film in the pass where the light already is, and use the colour board and looks to finish rather than to fix. Zella has manual colour grading; Auto-Polish does not touch colour.

Can I make restaurant videos on just a phone?

Yes. The iPhone app records, cuts, captions, grades and exports without a desktop step.

How do I cut a food video to the music?

Add the track, then Beat Sync detects the beats on-device and punches a zoom on each one. Sensitivity sets how many beats it catches.

Is there a monthly fee?

No. Free is permanent and Pro is $89 once, which suits posting in bursts around service.

Do I need captions if there is no talking?

They still help, because most feed video autoplays on mute and captions carry the dish name, the price or the offer.
